Admission Arrangements

In accordance with Devon Local Authority policy, all students admitted to Marland will have a statement of Special Educational Needs following a multiprofessional assessment.

Referrals are discussed by a multi professional ‘Inclusion Panel’ chaired by a senior Devon LA officer to establish what form of provision is required. Following this process papers are then sent to the school by the placing authority requesting a placement interview. Based on this information, the Leadership Team at Marland make an initial decision as to whether it is considered likely that we can meet this student’s specific needs. If so, parents, the student and other interested professionals are invited to visit the school for a formal interview. If the recommendation is for a placement at Marland, the school notifies the LA and the student’s parents offering a starting date and detailing arrangements for transport.

Visitors are welcome to the school. Please phone the office to arrange a suitable time.
